How to create a Melted Lightsaber Effect

Simply put, this prop uses orange lights, tinfoil, water bottles, clear packing tape, aluminum tape, spray foam, paint, and a lightsaber!

Using the aluminum tape, the aluminum foil is reinforced to add stiffness. The lights are then taped down.

The water bottles assist in keeping the lights from melting the foam and also allow the light from being covered too much from the foam.

Great stuff spray foam is ready to create the molten metal effect.

Spray paint is applied

Coat the entire surface of the foam in 2-part epoxy to seal the foam for painting.

Simple lightsabers are trimmed to size.

The lightsaber is placed inside the foam.

In the dark, this prop has a great glow effect.
